Texas Senate District 8 Announcement

God willing, my name will be on the Republican Primary Ballot for the Texas Senate this election cycle, I will win the Primary, and then be voted in during the General Election.


The things I would like to accomplish serving in the Texas Senate include the following:

1. Meet publicly at least quarterly with groups of Constituents to receive input while continuing to publish weekly emails offering information, requesting input, and providing a forum.
2. Persuade the Federal Government to return the offshore land that belongs to Texas further out to 200 miles rather than the current 10 mile limit since offshore leasing is the second largest source of "Federal Revenue" after income taxes.
3. Work with other Texas Law Makers to eliminate property taxes.
4. Introduce legislation to improve health care for Texans starting with Public School Teachers.
5. Help Texas give back more control to Parents of their Children's Education through various reforms including the Texas Education Agency.
6. Bring pressure on Texas State Agencies to hire Texas based businesses.
7. Encourage Texas businesses to develop home electric generation systems, cost-effective geothermal heat pumps, and methane/propane powered vehicles with Texas Energy Incentives.

I am a member of McDermott Road Church of Christ in Plano, have been married to the same woman for 38 years, we have 3 children & 8 grandchildren, I served as an officer in the Marine Corps 1972-1976 with final rank of Captain, am an alumnus of Abilene Christian University and Price Waterhouse Big 4 CPA Firm, worked in Petroleum Industry / Management Consulting / Texas Public Education, and am a Republican Party Precinct Chairman & Publicity Director for the Plano Multi-Cultural Outreach Roundtable.
